Captain: Cohen Dahm

Born and raised in rural New Zealand, Cohen left home at a young age for Australia to pursue a trade in boat building. In 2003 at the age of 21 Cohen travelled to Florida where he joined his first yacht and hasn't looked back since. With 13 years of charter boat experience, 5 of those as captain, Cohen brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table. In the past he has worked on numerous yachts ranging from 36m 70m. Cohen holds a 3000 grt Commercial Master Yachts certificate. His interests are Travel, Reading, Paragliding and any sport you can cheer

Chief Mate: Darryn Clark

Kiwi

Darryn grew up in Auckland, New Zealand. A majority of his upbringing was spent enjoying all activities associated to water. Darryn moved to Europe in 2008 to pursue a career in Yachting. He has since cruised all around the world including the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Red Sea, Central America, East coast USA, Canada and Greenland. Darryn completed his Chief Mate qualifications in 2014 and is looking forward to his next challenge. In his spare time he enjoys kite-surfing, diving, rugby league, boxing and travel.

Chief Engineer: Steven Beeston

British

Engineer Steve is British through and through. While he has recently joined the crew of Illusion her not new to boats or being at sea. He spent many years in the Royal Navy and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the engineering department to ensure the smooth and safe running of the yacht. When he is not manning his engines Steve enjoys being with his family. His hobbies and interests include power kiting, geocaching and walking.

Second Engineer: Andrew Metcalfe

British

Andrew grew up in Norwich, England and enjoys sailing and boating as much as he enjoys engines. He has a vast career experience ranging from cruise ships, commercial vessels and sailing yachts. He has a wide range of skills and values a job well done. While he is not fixing engines or working on the electronics, Andrew can be found at home rebuilding his own 24 foot boat or artistic roller skating.

Head Chef: Mark Reid

British

Mark hails from England and has been working as a trained Chef for over twenty years. Originally London based, Mark spent the first 10 years of his career working in hotels, fine restaurants and exclusive member's only clubs across England. Some of his most memorable years were backpacking across Australia, Asia and South Africa. Mark is an avid reader, loves scuba diving and is an avid football supporter. He is also known as a bit of a pool shark! Mark has been in yachting for 10 years and sees it as the perfect job for continuing to see the world whilst developing his passion for cooking.

Sous Chef: Laine Brockwell

Laine has been a chef for over 13 years many of them spent working in Michellin star kitchens as well as some of the best restaurants in the world. He has worked in London, Paris, Amsterdam, Copenhagen and Melbourne on his travels. Laine is new to this side of the industry, Illusion being the first boat he has worked on, he is eager to learn and always reads with a question.

South African

Tracey calls South Africa home, where she grew up enjoying the great outdoors and travelling back to her country of birth Zimbabwe for fishing and boating trips with her family. She has been on a number of charter vessels and has learnt the art of service and quality hospitality. She is a passionate about being on the water and providing a safe, happy and memorable experience to all guests regardless of age or culture. In her free time she likes to travel, part take in board sports, read and photograph strange new cultures. Tracey's energetic and caring nature will see you well looked after and not wanting to leave the wonderful team of MY Illusion.

Second Stewardess: Alena Sneddon

New Zealand

Alena is from New Zealand, having grown up with a love of the outdoors and willingness to explore and try new things. Some of her favourite activities are wake-boarding, skiing and diving. Alena represented her region in competitive swimming and water polo. Prior to yachting Alena was able to persue her passion for travelling whilst working as a flight attendant. Some of her favourite travel destinations have been througout Africa, America and Europe.

Stewardess: Robyn Riddell

South African

Robyn joined the yachting industry following a career path in service, events and publishing. Robyn's first was based in the Mediterrenean. An adventurer at heart, Robyn enjoys having a go at just about everything, her hobbies include scuba diving and she hopes to become more advanced in the coming years. Robyn is a team player, a supportive and helpful member of the crew. She is committed to creating a fun, light hearted, and professional environment on board M/YIllusion.

Iona was born in Edinburgh and spent most of her childhood here; she left high school when she was 17 to join a dance school. Unfortunately after 2 years she hurt her back and had to make the transition to University where she completed a diploma in Psychology. For her age Iona is extremely well travelled. She enjoys the arts and hanging out with artists. She lived in Barcelona for a year, where she was introduced to the yachting industry and we are happy to welcome her bubbly, softly spoken, happy personality into the MY Illusion family.

Bosun: Jordan Brewer

British

Jordan was born in Bath, South West England. He joined the yachting scene fresh out of school and hasn't looked back since, he is a true sailor at heart. He has an ambition to travel all ends of the globe by the his 30th birthday. His hobbies consist of playing guitar, skateboarding, and every water sport activity available. Jordan has unique talent of springboard diving, he enjoys coaching at every opportunity. Jordan is a humble and hard-working member of the crew, he will guarantee your outdoor experience aboard Illusion is unforgettable.

Deckhand: Henry Smith

British

Henry made his move to the yachting industry following two years working as an administration officer in the Ministry of Magic. He believes he has truly found his calling and plans to build a life long career within the industry one day hoping be a captain himself. Henry is an avid sportsman and has played team events such as rugby, soccer and volleyball. In college Henry found a talent for figure skating and would be more than happy to share this love and show you some of his exceptional moves.

Deckhand: Tomasz Wilewski

Polish

Tomasz comes from a small Polish family and grew up in Poland. He has been in the industry for 3 years. He came to know about the boats after meeting a girl one day back home, who's photos were an exhibition of worldly travel and exotic paces, after inquiring as to what she did, he had fist bite at the possibility of the yachts. 2 weeks later he had quit his regular job and bought a flight to Nice, France. Tomasz is always happy and enjoys keeping fit. In his off time he can be found climbing and partaking in extreme sports like down hill mountain biking. He is also a dive master and will ensure you and your family have a trip to remember.
