Captain: Michael Conway
Michael has been involved in yachting since July of 1987, moving swiftly through the ranks from deckhand to Chief Officer and eventually to Captain in 1995. Prior to his engagement on board Illusion he has been Master on two very busy 43-metre charter yachts Legend of Tintagel & Lady Christine and was Master on board the 58 meter Midnight Saga for four and a half years.During his career he has cruised worldwide and so far during his ten year tenure on board Illusion has cruised extensively in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean completing charters and Owner's cruises successfully in both areas. Michael holds a 3000 grt Commercial Master Yacht certificate. His hobbies and interests include scuba diving, football and playing music.
Captain Rotational: Cohen Dahm
Cohen Is born and raised in rural New Zealand. He left home at a young age for Australia to pursue a trade in boat building. In 2003 at the young age or 21 he travelled to Florida where he joined his first yacht and hasn't looked back since. With 13 years of charter boat experience (5 years of those as Captain) Cohen brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table. In the past he has worked on numerous yachts from 36m to 70m. He was charter captain on 47m Feadship Harle and 50m Feadship Broadwater. Cohen holds a 3000 grt Commercial Master Yachts certificate. His interests are Travel, Reading, Paragliding and any sport you can cheer at.
Chief Mate: Keith Lauffer
Born and raised on the West Coast of Scotland, Keith was introduced to sailing and windsurfing at a young age. He worked his way through the sailing syllabus and became an instructor at his local club, becoming confident handling small craft in conditions others would consider extreme. After finishing his engineering degree, Keith decided to follow a nautical career path- several seasons as a professional watersports instructor led on to him skippering small yachts which led on to him discovering his ambition to become a superyacht captain! Keith joins Illusion in his 8th year in the superyacht industry holding Chief Mate 3000gt, as he continues to study for his captains qualification. In his free time Keith is a rock climber, SCUBA diver and recreational pilot.
Second Engineer: Chris Graham
Chris is from Dover and has spent his entire working life at sea, during his career he has worked upon many different types of vessel ultimately arriving on board Illusion. Although originally hailing from the UK Chris moved to France back in 2000 has spends all his time there with his daughter when not on board. His interests include music, football and computing.
Sous Chef: Chris Sutherland
Born and raised in Sydney, Australia, Chris started his career at the Intercontinental Hotel, then continuing his journey to London where he worked in various fine dining establishments including the OXO Tower London Brasserie, for over 10 years. To further his career in a different sector of hospitality he decided to join the yachting industry, which he has been in for 1 1/2 years. Chris enjoys cooking various types of cuisine and is interested in experimenting with molecular gastronomy. In his spare time he enjoys food and wine, scuba diving, travel, keeping fit, music and meeting new people.
Chief Stewardess: Ambre Penberthy
Ambre has been in the yachting industry since 2006,cruising on many high profile private and charter yachts worldwide. During her 9 year career she has cruised extensively in the Mediterranean, Caribbean, British Columbia & the USA & Canada, working exclusively for High profile individuals, heads of state & royalty. Ambre has a keen passion for languages; she speaks fluent Italian, French & Spanish, enjoys travel and other cultures and has spent time working in both Milan and Paris and traveling around South East Asia. She has recently rejoined Illusion as Chief Stewardess, where she previously spent four successful seasons at the start of her yachting career.
Second Stewardess: Aimee Scott
Aimee ventured into the Yachting Industry in February 2012, drawing from her background in customer service and hospitality coupled with her passion for traveling; yachting seemed like the perfect job. After three years working on a busy private yacht, the last 18 months as second stewardess, she has recently joined MY Illusion. Aimee's interests include traveling to new places, music, film, reading and photography.
Stewardess: Ashley Ray
Ashley has recently joined the yachting industry after coming from a service and international events background, working throughout Asia as a hostess and in the UK managing restaurants and public houses. Ashley comes from a hotelier background working with her family in the south coast of England. From a young age, Ashley has had a passion for travel and has been to countries such as India, Nepal, Thailand and Israel over the past years amongst others. Other passions include rock climbing, yoga, general fitness, performing-arts and healthy cuisine.
Stewardess: Robyn Riddell
Robyn has recently joined the yachting industry, following a history in service, events and publishing. After deciding on a major career change, she left South Africa to pursue a life that would combine her love of hospitality, travel and the ocean. Her first job was on a 55m private motor yacht based in the Mediterranean for a year. An adventurer at heart, Robyn enjoys learning new things – recently completing her PADI Open Water Dive Course which she hopes to take further in the coming years.
Deckhand: Michael Hick
With family ties in yachting, Michael came into the industry in early 2012 after a stint as an infantry soldier in the British Army. Working on board yachts ranging from 30 metres to 80 metres Michael has traveled the Mediterranean and Caribbean. He spends his spare time at home in Kent, England, with his wife and two young children. Michael is an avid boxing fan and is usually known as Mick.
Deckhand: Jordan Brewer
Jordan was born in Bath, South West England amongst the great outdoors. Straight out of school he found a love for the ocean, therefore deciding to pursue a career in yachting and has now been in the industry for 18 months. He has a love for music and his hobbies consist of playing the guitar, skateboarding and any sport in or involving water.
