Captain: Michael Conway

Michael has been involved in yachting since July of 1987, moving swiftly through the ranks from deckhand to Chief Officer and eventually to Captain in 1995. Prior to his engagement on board Illusion he has been Master on two very busy 43 metre charter yachts Legend of Tintagel & Lady Christine and was Master on board the 58 meter Midnight Saga for four and a half years. During his career he has cruised worldwide and so far during his 8 year tenure on board Illusion has cruised extensively in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean completing charters and Owner's cruises successfully in both areas. Michael holds a 3000 GRT Commercial Master Yacht certificate. His hobbies and interests include scuba diving, playing & watching football, & playing music.

Chief Officer: Adam Virik
Adam has been working in the yachting industry for over seven years and although he comes from a sailing background, his professional career has been on motor yachts. He started as a deckhand on the 72 metre motor yacht ‘Coral Island’, and more recently has been the Captain on the classic wooden 25 metre Feadship yacht ‘Atalanta’. Before joining ‘Illusion’ Adam was the Chief Officer on the 44m motor yacht ‘Petra’ and he holds the MCA Chief Mate 3000 tonnes qualification. Adam's passions are travel & watersports .

2nd Officer: Jeremy Brice
Jeremy has been involved in luxury yachting since Oct 2004, he holds an RYA Yacht master Offshore certificate and has gained a wealth of experience cruising in the Mediterranean, Caribbean and Indian Oceans. This is his second season on board Illusion. His interest’s are mainly water orientated diving being a big passion of his, He’s an avid Rugby fan also. When he’s not involved in one of his many pursuits Jeremy can be found relaxing on the beach.

Chief Engineer - Eddie Manners
Eddie joined the Royal Navy at seventeen and completed 22 years service. He studied mechanical and electrical marine engineering. He served his entire RN career on Fast Patrol craft and mine sweepers specializing as an internal combustion engine and RIB maintainer. After leaving the RN Eddie became a truck driver however after a little while the lure of the sea became too great to ignore and returned to engineering in the yachting industry in 2005.

2nd Engineer: Diego Varron
Diego studied Marine Engineering at Cebu Central College in the Philippines where he successfully obtained his engineering degree. He served as an apprentice on passenger ships for two years before moving onto cargo vessels for a further six years. At 29 he moved into the yachting industry where during the last 13 years he has worked on such vessels as the 65 meter Esmerelda, MY Louisiana, and so far has spent over nine years on board Illusion.

Deckhand: Ross Rochelle
Ross comes from catering background and after extensive restaurant experience in England and with one season under his belt on Illusion as sous chef, Ross has returned to a position on deck. Ross is a keen rugby player and is passionate about water sports.

Chief Stewardess: Karma Butler
Coming from a management role in bars and restaurants, Karma has brought with her a wealth of knowledge from the hospitality and service industry. Prior to joining Illusion, she completed a busy Mediterranean season on board a 65 meter motor yacht and so far on Illusion has cruised both Mediterranean & Caribbean. She is an outgoing person and relates well to people of all ages. Karma has been providing Illusion guests with impeccable service for over seven years.

Stewardess: Sophie Smith
Having spent 8 years working on yachts in Australia, Sophie has finally stepped into international waters and is enjoying seeing new places and experiencing the super yacht industry. She has a love of nature and children and enjoys meeting all our guests on board motor yacht Illusion.

Stewardess: Tanya Blackman
Tanya is new to the yachting industry and this is her first season on board Illusion. Tanya comes from a career in customer services and is looking forward to transferring these skills to looking after guests on Illusion. Outside of work Tanya is a prolific reader and has a passion for creative writing.

Stewardess: Lauren Crawford
Coming from New Zealand Lauren has a passion for travel and has been exploring Europe for the last four years. Her first season in the yachting Industry was spent on the 80m motor yacht, ‘Montkaj’ and with a background in hospitality Lauren enjoys meeting and serving the guests on Illusion.

Chef : Michael Martin
Michael has been a chef for over 20 years starting his training at ‘Stephanies’ restaurant in Australia then moved to Europe to combine his two passions of travel and cooking. When he arrived in France he discovered the luxury yachting industry and been a chef on yachts of various sizes for the past ten years. Before joining the Illusion team he has worked on yachts in the Mediterranean, Caribbean the Mexico.

Sous Chef: John Comiskey
John has been involved in the professional catering industry for over 12 years, starting his career in ‘to be seen in’ restaurants in London before crossing the globe to work in Melbourne, Australia where he was selected as ‘Pastry Chef of the Year’. Upon moving back to London he worked in several high profile members clubs before joining Illusion for his first position on the high seas.
